Bokaro: Sree Ayyappa Public School (SAPS), Bokaro, commemorated its 37th Foundation Day on Thursday with great enthusiasm and pride. The campus buzzed with festivity, reflecting a harmonious blend of tradition and modernity. The event was graced by Birendra Kumar Tiwari, Director-in-Charge, SAIL, Bokaro Steel Plant, as the Chief Guest, alongside other dignitaries from the school’s management.
Warm Welcome and Traditional Ceremonies
The celebration began with a traditional welcome of the guests, who were presented with saplings as a symbol of sustainable growth. Dignitaries including Chairman P. Rajagopal, Vice Chairmen Saseendran Karat and Mohanan R. Nair, General Secretary E.S. Suseelan, Treasurer Balachandran, and Director Board Member Suresh Kumar K.A., were escorted to the stage amidst applause.
A ceremonial lamp lighting, accompanied by soulful chanting of Shlokas by students, set a spiritual tone. The school choir followed with a melodious Welcome Song, creating a warm and celebratory atmosphere.
Principal’s Address and Cultural Showcase
Principal P. Shailaja Jaya Kumar formally inaugurated the event with her Welcome and Keynote Address. She highlighted the school’s journey, built on discipline, values, and educational excellence, while expressing gratitude to the staff, students, and management.
The cultural programme included a semi-classical Ganesh Vandana and a series of traditional Indian dances under the banner of Bharatiya Nritya Srankhala. A thought-provoking play, “Panch Tattva – Paryavaran Samrakshan”, emphasised the importance of environmental protection.
Award Ceremonies and Recognitions
The day saw the recognition of academic and teaching excellence through a grand Prize Distribution Ceremony. Students excelling in board exams, NEET, JEE, and IBR qualifiers were felicitated. Long-serving faculty members Jaya Krishnamurthy and Pradeep Mahato were honoured for 25 years of service. Teachers who guided students to perfect scores were also awarded.
The Scholar Badge Presentation saw over 400 students being recognised for academic excellence. Badges were awarded by the Chairman, Vice Chairmen, General Secretary, Treasurer, and Directors to meritorious students from classes I to XII.
Chief Guest’s Address and Musical Tribute
Chief Guest Shri Birendra Kumar Tiwari praised the school’s discipline, academic environment, and infrastructure. He encouraged students to focus on character-building and innovation. His speech received appreciation from students, teachers, and parents alike. The school orchestra, Sreeragam, delivered a stirring instrumental performance, followed by a serene Geeta Chanting session.
Vote of Thanks and Conclusion
Vice Principal Suresh Nair proposed the Vote of Thanks, extending heartfelt gratitude to all attendees. The event concluded with the singing of the National Anthem. Founder Member Rajshekharan of Ayyappa Seva Sangam was also present on the occasion.
