Bokaro: MGM Higher Secondary School, Bokaro, marked the beginning of its new academic session with a vibrant two-day In-House Training Programme designed to inspire and empower its teaching staff. The session, held on June 16 and 17, was led by renowned educationist Prof. Dr. Rosamma Philip, who is widely acclaimed for her work in Science Education, Psychology, and Philosophy.
The programme ran from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. and witnessed the active participation of Principal Fr. Dr. Joshi Varghese, Academic Director George Joseph, Vice-Principal Rakhi Banerjee, Headmistress Sapna Joshi, STNC Mr. Chanchal Kumar, and the entire teaching faculty. The event set an energetic tone for the academic year ahead.
On Day 1, Dr. Rosamma conducted a session titled *“Augmented Individuals in the Classroom,”* focusing on enhancing educators’ abilities using storytelling, emotional connection, and interactive teaching methods. Rather than relying on technological tools, the emphasis was placed on enriching the human element in education.
Day 2 focused on the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. Teachers collaborated in subject-wise groups to integrate the policy’s holistic principles into their classroom practices. Concepts such as multiple intelligences, creative pedagogy, and teacher immediacy behaviour were explored through practical activities.
“It was a shot of adrenaline,” said Principal Fr. Dr. Joshi Varghese. “Dr. Rosamma helped us rediscover the joy of teaching and gave us tools to make learning more meaningful.”
Dr. Rosamma expressed her delight at the enthusiasm of the MGM faculty and was honoured with a memento and bouquet by the school. With fresh motivation and a renewed sense of purpose, the staff of MGM Bokaro are now set to transform their classrooms into spaces of innovation, inclusion, and inspiration.
