Bokaro: The Bokaro General Hospital (BGH) in Jharkhand plans to hire doctors on a contractual basis, offering them a handsome salary package and other benefits. BGH, one of the largest hospitals in the state, has declared a ‘Walk-in Interview’ opportunity for prospective candidates.
BGH is owned by Maharatna Steel Authourity of India Limited (SAIL) and operated by Bokaro Steel Plant (BSL).
SAIL issued a recruitment notice on Wednesday, announcing openings for the role of General Duty Medical Officer (GDMO) and Specialists at Bokaro General Hospital and the Jharkhand Group of Mines. There are approximately six available positions for GDMOs at BGH and two within the Mines area hospital. Applicants for these positions are required to possess an MBBS degree. Additionally, BGH has two available positions for specialists in the fields of orthopedics and ENT.
Although BGH has around 130 regular doctors and DNBs on staff. Due to the shortage of doctors, SAIL has been hiring doctors on a contract basis for the past few years.
In the hospital industry, SAIL-BSL offers unmatched pay and benefits. Each year, BGH performs about 8000 surgeries and receives 11 lakh outdoor patients. It serves as a referral center for these coal-belt areas of Bokaro, Giridih, Dhanbad, and Purulia (West Bengal).

Educational Qualification: MBBS with PG Diploma for Orthopedics and MBBS with PG Diploma/MS/MD/DNB for ENT.
Age Limit: Applicant’s age should be 69 years as on 23th October 2023.
Pay Scale: Consolidated remuneration will be paid up to Rs. 90,000 per month.
Selection Process: Candidates will be selected based on performance in the Interview.
