Bokaro: Police found dead body of a 40-year-old man lying near the canal at Kargili Gate under Bermo police station here on Thursday. The unclaimed body was thrown in a sack. The body had severe injuries on the head while a piece of cloth was put in his mouth. A police officer said that a case of murder has been lodged in this connection.
It was local residents who first spotted the body lying between bushes and informed police. It was difficult to identify the deceased as his face was badly assaulted. The dead body has been sent for post mortem, of which report is awaited.
The criminals might have killed him somewhere else and threw the body there. “We are investigating on different angles and waiting for post mortem report,” said the police officer. This was the second incident in the past 48 hours span when police have recovered unclaimed body in the district.
On Wednesday, the dead body of 25-year-old woman was recovered in a pit in Shakargada area under Chas Muffasil police station. She was also murdered. The woman is yet to be identified.
