Sree Ayyappa Public School recently organised an orientation program named ‘Nav Disha’ for newly admitted Class XI students. The event began with a traditional Indian welcome, applying ‘Tilak’ to the students.
The program commenced with the lighting of lamps by Principal P. Shailaja Jayakumar, Vice Principal Rajalakshmi, Suresh Nair, and senior teachers. Students also performed Shloka Japa and the school prayer, setting a culturally rich tone for the event.
Respect and Responsibility
In her keynote address, Principal P. Shailaja Jayakumar eloquently explained the relevance of various subjects and their future prospects. She highlighted the school’s norms and the facilities available to students. Jayakumar also proudly shared the school’s academic achievements and success in competitive examinations. She emphasised the school’s motto, “Respect and Responsibility,” and underscored the importance of living under the guidance of teachers. Additionally, she introduced the Class XI teacher and other faculty members.
Balance between life and studies
Senior teachers elaborated on key aspects necessary for the students’ bright future, stressing the responsibility of future leaders. Yogesh Kumar, Rajiv Ranjan Sahay, and Sajeev S. spoke about the importance of discipline and the balance between life and studies. Their speeches aimed to inspire students to maintain a harmonious and focused approach to their education.
Respect to their parents and teachers
The chief guest, Rajendra Kumar, a theatre artist honoured by the Tamil Nadu government and a retired HRD manager from Bokaro Plant, addressed the gathering. Kumar, known for his multi-talented contributions, emphasised the respect students should give to their parents and teachers, creating an atmosphere filled with positive energy. The event ended on a patriotic note with the national anthem.
