SEFI Chairman indicates PRP payment before Diwali, pledges to resolve EPS 95 pension issues


Bokaro: SEFI Chairman and National Confederation of Officers Association (NCOA) Working President, Narendra Banchor, along with SEFI Vice Chairman Narendra Singh, visited Bokaro to address pressing concerns related to officers.

Upon their arrival, they headed directly to the administrative building of Bokaro Steel Plant (BSL), where they were accompanied by President A K Singh and General Secretary of Bokaro Steel Officer Association (BSOA) Ajay Kumar Pandey. Warm Welcome by BSOA and Council Meeting 
Later in the evening, officials from the Bokaro Officers’ Association (BOSA) warmly welcomed Banchhor and Narendra Singh at Bokaro Club. A BOSA Council meeting was convened, where the visiting leaders were apprised of the various challenges faced by officers in Bokaro. Several critical issues were brought to the forefront during the discussions, such as the daily siege of officers’ residences, illegal occupation of the quarters, delayed promotions for officers, and the recurring B grading in Key Performance Areas (KPA). Concerns about deficiencies in medical facilities were also addressed.

Major Announcements by SEFI 
During the meeting, SEFI Chairman Banchor made several significant announcements. He assured that a lump-sum PRP (Performance Related Pay) payment would be made before Diwali, bringing relief to the officers. Another key point of discussion was the ongoing issues with EPS 95 higher pensions, where delays and discrepancies have been causing concern among the officers. To address these issues, Banchor stated that SEFI would actively engage with the Ministry and CPFO (Central Provident Fund Office) to expedite a solution.

Commitment to Resolve Challenges
The meeting underscored SEFI’s commitment to resolving the challenges faced by officers in Bokaro. The daily struggles of officers, including unauthorised occupation of residences, delay in promotions, and repeated lower grading in key performance metrics, were taken seriously. Ajay Pandey said, the SEFI leadership emphasised the importance of improving medical facilities and ensuring timely PRP payments to boost morale. Furthermore, the initiative to resolve the EPS 95 pension issues reflects SEFI’s focus on long-term welfare for officers.
