Pentecostal Bokaro Revolutionises Learning: Holistic progress cards redefine student growth

Bokaro: The Pentecostal Assembly School has completed its mid-year assessment for the Foundational Stage, which covers children aged 3 to 8 years, from Pre-Nursery to Grade 2. This achievement marks a significant step in implementing the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 and the National Curriculum Framework for Foundational Stage (NCF-FS) 2022. The school is leading the charge in educational reform within the city, aligning with the vision to provide holistic, student-centered learning.

Shifting Assessment Methods with NEP 2020
As education transforms to meet 21st-century requirements, so does the assessment process. Pentecostal Assembly School is at the forefront of these changes, ensuring that students are evaluated comprehensively. The school now focuses on the three developmental goals outlined in the NIPUN Bharat Guidelines: fostering physical and emotional wellness, improving communication skills, and encouraging active learning. This approach emphasizes tracking student progress in a well-rounded manner, highlighting personal growth and development.

Holistic Progress Card Introduced for 360-Degree Feedback
A key aspect of this assessment is the introduction of the Holistic Progress Card (HPC), which offers 360-degree feedback on each student’s development. The new system provides an all-encompassing view of a child’s growth, incorporating physical, emotional, and cognitive aspects. Students received colorful HPCs and personalized profiles that reflect their achievements across multiple learning domains. The “All About Me” section stands out as a space for students to express their preferences, dreams, and aspirations, fostering self-awareness.

Collaboration and Future Growth
The success of this new assessment system is a result of the collaborative efforts between students, teachers, and parents. Principal Dr. Karuna Prasad highlighted the importance of the foundational stage, stating, “NEP 2020 enables us to focus on each child’s unique strengths, fostering creativity and all-round development.” Dr. Prasad also praised the dedication of the teaching staff, whose commitment has driven these educational advancements. Moving forward, the school remains committed to shaping the bright futures of its students through this dynamic and holistic approach to learning.
