DPS Bokaro students bring Diwali cheer and happiness to the Old Age Care home inmates


Bokaro: As a part of the school’s initiative to uphold the spirit of service to humanity, students of DPS Bokaro, led by Principal Dr.A.S.Gangwar visited the Old Age Care Home in Chas, Bokaro on Thursday.

The team celebrated the festival of lights with the elderly residents which brought smiles and happiness to their faces. The school team under the leadership of the Principal comprised the teachers and students of Classes XI and XII. They were welcomed by Ranjit Kumar Das, Manager and Deepali Mahato, an active member of the Old Age Home along with the senior citizens.

This noble step is a part of the school’s ongoing Community Outreach Programme. On this beautiful occasion, the senior community members were gifted with personal hygiene care kits, luggage bags, fruits and sweets, the lighting of candles and diyas was also done, which filled the atmosphere with festive cheer and joy.

In addition to these gestures, students spent quality time interacting with the elderly residents, sharing stories and exchanging smiles, embodying the true spirit of Diwali. As a token of gratitude, the members of the Old Age Home presented a memento and a shawl to the Principal.

The Principal, Dr.Gangwar expressed that such initiatives should be promoted by the schools and parents among the youngsters to instil the values of love, care and compassion in them so that they grow up into responsible and caring generation.He also praised the commendable efforts of the Baba Baidyanath Jan Sewa Samiti, the organization running the Old Age Home.
