Summer Camp inspires creativity and confidence


Bokaro: A four-day summer camp was organised at Sree Ayyappa Public School, Sector-5, from May 13 to May 16, 2025. Over 1500 students took part in this event, held just before the summer vacation, aiming to blend education with fun and creativity.

Multi-Disciplinary Activities for Holistic Growth
The camp featured a wide range of activities such as football, basketball, volleyball, athletics, chess, carrom, cooking classes, arts and crafts, soft toy making, aerobics, Zumba, contemporary dance, graphics, animation, and Geeta chanting. Expert trainers and teachers provided guidance, making learning both engaging and meaningful.

Encouraging Self-Reliance Through Cooking and Crafts
Special cooking classes taught students to prepare nutritious dishes like lassi, sabudana poha, rasam, and wild potato, aiming to instill self-reliance. In soft toy making, students created cushions, dolls, and Radha-Krishna figures. Arts and crafts sessions included clay pot painting, Madhubani, watercolor techniques, and tie-and-dye methods.

Showcasing Talent Through Exhibition
On the final day, a grand exhibition was organised to display the students’ artworks and projects. Parents, teachers, and fellow students visited the exhibit, appreciating the creativity and dedication shown by the children.

Leadership Commends Students and Staff
Chairman of the School Management Committee, Rajagopalan, praised the students for their enthusiastic participation, affirming the school’s commitment to all-round development. Other dignitaries from the Sree Ayyappa Seva Sangam also extended their best wishes for the summer vacation.

Principal Highlights Purpose of Camp
Principal P. Shailaja Jai Kumar emphasised that the camp helps develop students’ interests and talents beyond academics. She encouraged children to use the summer vacation to pursue language learning or develop a specific skill.

Student Voices Support for the Initiative
Lavanya, a Class VII A student, shared her excitement, saying these camps make her vacation enjoyable. The support of the Vice Principal, teachers, parents, and staff was key in making the event a resounding success.
