Bokaro: Sree Ayyappa Public School, Bokaro, organised an awareness program on Wednesday to educate students of Classes XI and XII on key social and safety issues. The session, held for one hour, was attended by Principal P. Shailaja Jayakumar, Vice Principal P. Suresh Nair, Rajalaxmi, faculty members, and police officials from the district administration.
Topics Covered During the Session
The program focused on four critical areas: drug abuse, traffic rules, cyber security, and girls’ safety under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. Police officers shared insights, highlighting real-life risks and preventive measures, aiming to build awareness among young learners.
Expert Guidance from Police Officials
City DSP Alok Ranjan spoke about the dangers of drug addiction and reckless driving, emphasizing the importance of discipline and responsibility for a safe future. DSP (Headquarters) Animesh Kumar Gupta addressed the growing threat of cybercrimes, advising students to follow safe digital practices and remain alert against online fraud. SHO Ms. Sangeeta sensitised the students on harassment and POCSO-related crimes, encouraging them to stand against abuse and uphold dignity in society.
