Bokaro: Aligning with the Central Board of Secondary Education’s (CBSE) push towards a fully digital evaluation system, teachers of Delhi Public School Bokaro participated in a nationwide intensive on-screen mock evaluation exercise on Thursday. The initiative was aimed at streamlining the implementation of the board’s new On-Screen Marking (OSM) system.

Award marks in real time
Teachers of Classes XI and XII logged in from their school premises between 12.30 pm and 1 pm to evaluate scanned answer scripts digitally and award marks in real time. Dozens of faculty members assembled in the school’s computer lab to take part in the structured practice session.
Answer scripts will be scanned and assessed digitally
The exercise was led by City Coordinator of CBSE and school principal Dr A.S. Gangwar, who briefed teachers on the finer aspects and technical nuances of the digital marking process. CBSE has announced that from the 2026 Class XII board examinations, answer scripts will be scanned and assessed digitally on computer screens. The technology-driven system is expected to enhance transparency, minimise calculation errors and ensure timely declaration of results.

Familiarising teachers with the new format
School authorities said the mock drill proved highly beneficial in familiarising teachers with the new format. With active participation in the trial run, DPS Bokaro has signalled its readiness for CBSE’s digital transformation in evaluation practices.
