The Government of India has assigned additional charge of the post of Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) of Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Limited (RINL) to Manish Raj Gupta, Director (Technical, Projects & Raw Materials) at Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL). The order was issued by the Ministry of Steel through its Board Level Appointment Cell on Wednesday, with the approval of the competent authority.
According to the order, Gupta will hold the additional responsibility for a period of one year with effect from January 1, 2026. The arrangement will remain in force until a regular incumbent is appointed to the post, or until further orders are issued, whichever is earlier.
The decision aims to ensure continuity in leadership at RINL during the interim period. Copies of the order have been forwarded to senior officials and company secretaries of both SAIL and RINL, as well as the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet.
