Bokaro: In a major boost to infrastructure, the central government has approved the construction of a four-lane road from Bokaro’s Sector-6 Shastri Chowk to Telmocho, spanning 5.965 kilometers. The project, sanctioned under the Central Road and Infrastructure Fund (CRIF) for the financial year 2024–25, will be built at a cost of Rs 62.2 crore.
Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari gave the nod following a proposal by Dhanbad MP Dhulu Mahto. The new road is expected to significantly improve connectivity between Bokaro city and nearby rural areas while also enhancing links to Dhanbad.
“This long-pending demand of the people will finally be fulfilled. It will strengthen traffic flow and accelerate regional economic activities,” said MP Dhulu Mahto, who thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Minister Gadkari for the approval. The project is seen as a vital step toward faster development and better urban-rural integration in Bokaro.
