Bokaro school hosts skill-based education workshop under NEP 2020


Bokaro: Guru Gobind Singh Public School (GGPS), Sector-5, organised a one-day in-house training program on New Education Policy (NEP) 2020 at the Bhai Nand Lal Ji Auditorium here on Monday. Held from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM, the event aimed to familiarise teachers with the objectives and implementation strategies of NEP 2020.

The program was inaugurated by Vice Principal C.P. Singh, along with Vice Principal of the Secondary Unit, Suman Nangia, and In-charge Alok Kumar. A welcome song marked the opening, followed by the felicitation of the three resource persons – Ritu Sinha, Snigdha Sinha, and Gloria Alphonso – with potted plants. Vice Principal Singh delivered the welcome address, highlighting the importance of educational transformation under NEP.

The first session, conducted by Ritu Sinha, focused on teaching-learning methods, skill development, policy pillars, and future-oriented education strategies. Teachers were encouraged to adapt their classroom practices in line with the NEP’s progressive goals.

In the second session, Gloria Alphonso addressed the topic of mental health and emotional well-being. She emphasized the need for creating a positive school environment to support both students and teachers.

The third session, led by Snigdha Sinha, centered on activity-based and experiential teaching. Through interactive exercises, teachers learned how to make classroom learning more engaging and practical.

Chairman Tarsem Singh and Secretary S.P. Singh praised the school’s ongoing efforts in teacher development. Principal Soumen Chakraborty described NEP 2020 as a transformational step, stating that such programs help make education more meaningful and relevant.

The event concluded with the National Anthem, group photography, and refreshments. Teachers left with a renewed commitment to apply the principles of NEP 2020 in their teaching.
