Schools in Bokaro marked Rabindranath Tagore’s birth anniversary with cultural celebrations


 Bokaro: Several schools in Bokaro marked the birth anniversary of Nobel laureate and renowned poet Rabindranath Tagore with various events and workshops. The celebrations highlighted his life, works, and influence on Indian culture and literature.

At The Pentecostal Assembly School, students from Class IX led a special assembly in honour of Tagore, presenting a range of performances, including speeches, poetry recitals, and the Hindi translation of a Bengali Rabindra Sangeet. The event featured a presentation and quiz on Tagore’s biography and achievements. Principal Dr. Karuna Prasad spoke about Tagore’s impact on Bengali literature and encouraged students to take inspiration from his life.

GGPS, Bokaro

Meanwhile, Guru Gobind Singh Public School (GGPS) hosted a workshop for teachers on stress management at the Bhai Nadanlal Auditorium. Principal Soumen Chakraborty, along with resource persons Anand Prakash, Priya, and Pratima Nooren Ekka, guided attendees on techniques to reduce stress and improve well-being. Participants learned about self-care, balanced diets, and strategies for handling stress effectively.

St. Xavier’s

St. Xavier’s School, Bokaro, also commemorated Tagore’s birth anniversary with a program led by senior teacher Chandrima Ray. The event included a prayer composed by Tagore, performed in Bengali and translated into English, as well as a dance performance and song by students. Principal Father Arun Minj emphasised the importance of celebrating great poets and drawing inspiration from their lives and works.

These celebrations across different schools offered students and teachers an opportunity to appreciate Tagore’s literary contributions and learn valuable lessons from his legacy.
