Bokaro: In line with the objectives of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, a two-day capacity building workshop for teachers was organized at Sree Ayyappa Public School, Bokaro. The program, conducted under the guidance of CBSE COE Patna, aimed to strengthen assessment and evaluation methods to enhance students’ learning outcomes and improve the overall academic framework. The workshop was held on August 29–30, 2025.
Focus on Assessment and Evaluation
The training session was conducted by Poonam Choudhary, PGT teacher at Bokaro Public School, and Suraj Kumar Lala, Vice Principal of Saluja Gold International School, Giridih. The sessions centered on the theme “Strengthening Assessment and Evaluation”.
Choudhary elaborated on the definition, importance, and benefits of assessment, highlighting that question papers should be competency-based to evaluate students effectively. She emphasized that assessment and evaluation are crucial indicators of students’ academic performance.

Mr. Lala stressed the need for timely reforms in education, stating that teachers must focus on making evaluation techniques more effective. He discussed the features of assessment, its various types, and Bloom’s Taxonomy, underlining its significance in modern pedagogy.
School’s Perspective
School Principal P. Shailaja Jayakumar described the workshop as a vital initiative for enhancing teachers’ professional skills, which in turn would contribute to students’ academic performance and holistic development.
