Chinmaya reopen classes 1 & above, other prominent schools plan to begin offline classes by….


Bokaro: In spite of lifting of the Covid restriction, which allows classes above 1 to reopen as of Monday, most public schools had plans to start offline classes at the end of March or in early April. In few of the schools which started offline classes for primary sections, the students were in good attendance on the first day.

As their annual examinations going on, the prominent schools of the town – Delhi Public School, Guru Gobind Singh Public School, Shree Ayyappa Public School, MGM Higher Secondary School, Pentecostal School Assembly – will begin classes from March end or April 1st week. The students at Chinmaya Vidyalaya came with great enthusiasm to meet their friends and teachers after almost two years. Their faces were filled with smiles and happiness. According to Mahesh Tripathy, secretary of Chinmaya Vidyalaya, most classes have 90 percent attendance. It is beyond our expectations.

Children were thrilled and enthusiastic with lots of joy and excitement. The students and teachers at the school felt that life had returned. According to Tripathy, some of them got nostalgic and had a hard time controlling their emotions. He added, “First fewdays will be devoted for normalisation particulary psychological and behavioural aspects in pedagogy and reinforce the foundation to build the learning gaps”.

However, Vansh Singh, a student of Class-5, says, “Without meeting teachers and friends, I was feeling lonely. Studying online was difficult for me. It feels good to be back in school. It feels great.”.

Other schools are preparing to open after the annual exams. Shailja P Jaykumar, principal at Ayyappa Public School, said “before starting physical classes for primary sections, we’d like to hold a meeting session with parents to inform them about Covid protocols and other things so that they can send their children appropriately to school”.

Bokaro’s DPS principal, A S Gangwar, also said “the online examination of students is going on. From April 1, offline classes will begin”. The principal of MGM School FR. REJI C. Varghese also said, “Our class X students are there with 100% attendance”. The school will begin full-fledged classes in April.

Karuna Prasad, principal of Pentecostal School Assembly, said, “We are currently taking online examinations. Classes will begin by the end of March”. Soumen Chakraborty, principal of GGPS, also mentioned that classes would begin at the end of March, depending on parents’ consent.
