DC Bokaro-Led committee probes allegations of unethical practices & forged documents in private schools


Bokaro: The district administration of Bokaro has initiated an inquiry into allegations raised by concerned parents against several private schools in the area.

Jharkhand Parents Association have accused St. Xavier School in Sector-1, M.G.M. Higher Secondary School in Sector-4, Chinmaya Vidyalaya in Sector 5, and Delhi Public School (DPS) of unjust practices. President of Jharkhand Parents Association (Bokaro Unit), Mahender Rai of alleges that these schools impose a 20 percent annual increase in school fees, charging hefty amounts on other heads and mandate the purchase of textbooks from designated bookstores by changing them every year.

Allegations Prompt Formation of Inquiry Committee 

Furthermore, Crescent Public School in Sector-6, Mithila Academy Public School in Sector-4, and Sardar Patel Public School in Sector-9 face allegations of obtaining recognition from the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) through forged documents. In response, a district-level committee, chaired by the Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Bokaro, has been established to investigate these accusations. The committee aims to ensure transparency and accountability within the education sector.

Request for Participation and Submission of Documents 

To facilitate the investigation, a hearing has been scheduled for April 13, 2024, at 3:00 pm, under the chairmanship of the Deputy Commissioner, Jadhav Vijaya Narayan Rao. Principals of St Xavier School, M.G.M. Higher Secondary School, Chinmaya Vidyalaya, and Delhi Public School have been asked to participate in the hearing promptly. They are requested to bring monthly fee statements for the last three academic sessions and a categorised list of books, including publishers and fixed prices.

Similarly, principals of Crescent Public School, Mithila Academy Public School, and Sardar Patel Public School are requested to submit the prescribed documents of CBSE recognition along with attested photocopies of relevant records. Their attendance at the hearing is also mandated.

The district administration emphasises the urgency of compliance with these requests to ensure a thorough and fair investigation into the allegations against the private schools involved.
