DPS Bokaro added yet another historical moment to its annal by celebrating Raksha Bandhan at the Rashtrapati Bhavan with the President of India Her Excellency, Smt. Droupadi Murmu. She celebrated Raksha Bandhan with students of various schools from across the nation at the Cultural Centre of the Rashtrapati Bhavan.
Young ambassadors comprising of four students Anwesha Sharma, Ananaya Singh, Pritam Sagar and Adi Ayushman, Headmistress Priti Sinha led by the visionary leader, Principal Dr. A. S. Gangwar visited the Rashtrapati Bhavan on 19 August 2024 to celebrate the festival of love and bonding. It was a proud moment for the school to be a part of this momentous occasion as only selected schools from across the nation were a part of this historical moment. The students gifted her a painting as a gesture of love and gratitude. She was touched by their noble gesture and said that she was extremely happy to see team DPS Bokaro coming all the way from Jharkhand. It is noteworthy that she had visited the school on its Foundation Day in the year 2015.
Union Minister for Education Dharmendra Pradhan and Minister of State for Education & Minister of State (IC), Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship Jayant Chaudhary were present at the event. Sanjay Kumar, Secretary, Department of School Education & Literacy (DoSEL) and other officials of the Ministry of Education also attended the event.
The words of the Honorable President that the spirit of the festival of Raksha Bandhan is not to be celebrated only between brothers and sisters but also to be shared with soldiers, parents and friends, encouraged all. She emphasised that it is a festival of spreading peace and love. “We should spread love and happiness across border. India is a land of diverse culture but our festivals keep us united. Children are the future of the nation and they should continue the legacy of spreading love and happiness through the medium of these festivals”, she asserted.
Expressing his sincere gratitude to the President, Principal, Dr. A. S. Gangwar said that this opportunity is a lifetime memorable moment for the school and the entire city. This extraordinary opportunity to interact with the President is an unforgettable experience for the students and the educators , imbibing in them a sense of patriotic zeal and respect for the country’s cultural tradition.
