Bokaro: DPS Bokaro, in collaboration with the Bokaro District Yogasana Sport Association (BDYSA), organised a two-day technical training program on Yogasana for students from various schools across Bokaro city, concluding on Sunday at the school premises. This initiative marked a significant step towards promoting Yoga as a sport in the Bokaro district. The sessions were conducted by two renowned Yoga coaches, Vikas Gope and Shankar Rana, both recipients of the Jharkhand Yoga Ratna award and accomplished national athletes. The program began with a sapling presentation under DPS Bokaro’s ‘Go Green Campaign’ to Dr. A.S. Gangwar, Principal of DPS Bokaro and President of BDYSA, along with other dignitaries.
Over 125 students from different schools actively participated in the training sessions, which included various Yogasanas targeting full-body yogic exercises and Pranayama techniques.
The coaches emphasised the importance of a balanced diet and regular practice of Yoga for maintaining a healthy lifestyle. They encouraged students to incorporate Yoga into their daily fitness routines to reduce stress and promote overall well-being.
On the concluding day, students were motivated to adopt a positive attitude towards fitness and mental health, aiming to excel in upcoming Yoga competitions at various levels. All participants were awarded certificates for their active participation in the training sessions.
Dr. A.S. Gangwar highlighted that regular Yoga practice nurtures the body, mind, and soul, enhancing memory and reducing anxiety and depression, thereby promoting a positive and healthy life.
