Bokaro: A. S. Gangwar, Principal of Delhi Public School, Bokaro Steel City, has been conferred the Best Principal Award for Excellence in Sustainability and Environmental Stewardship 2025 by the National EduTrust of India (NEI), an organisation registered under the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, Government of India. The recognition honours his leadership in promoting sustainable practices and integrating the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) into school education.

Under Gangwar’s stewardship, DPS Bokaro has introduced a range of eco-friendly initiatives to cultivate environmental awareness among students. The campus has been equipped with solar panels to promote renewable energy and reduce the institution’s carbon footprint. A medicinal plants garden, Charak Vatika, has been developed to familiarise students with traditional herbs and biodiversity conservation. Through the Phulwari initiative, students adopt and nurture saplings, fostering a sense of responsibility towards nature. An Eco-Warriors team also monitors environmental practices on campus.
Expressing gratitude, Gangwar said the award reflected the collective efforts of students, staff, parents and stakeholders committed to a sustainable future.
