Bokaro: Abhineet Sharan, a Class X student of DPS Bokaro, has secured All India Rank (AIR) 5 paving the way to represent India in the Global Hanoi Open Mathematics Competition (HOMC) 2021-22.
Abhineet is among the top six students in the Senior group to represent India. In the first round of HOMC more than 6000 students across the country participated. Due to Covid restrictions the competition was held remotely on the virtual platform.
Only 250 students from across India were shortlisted for the second round. Among the top 250 students, 25 students were shortlisted for the next round and only 6 students qualified for the final round.
HOMC is organized by Meccademia Education Institute for Junior (Grades 7 & 8) and Senior (Grades 9 & 10) students with the objectives to identify and nurture mathematical talent and motivate the students.
A.S. Gangwar, Principal, DPS Bokaro, congratulated Abhineet on his extraordinary achievement. He said, “this is indeed a remarkable achievement. Such feats are achieved only when you have a deep love for the subject and are ready to invest in exploring it.”
Abhineet acknowledged the constant support and encouragement that he received from his parents and the school.
