Bokaro: In a vibrant display of athleticism and sportsmanship, DPS Bokaro hosted SAMAGAM- its 34th Annual Sports Day, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of students, parents and guests alike.
The theme for this year’s extravaganza was “प्रगति की ओर”, a fitting reflection of the continuous journey towards excellence that the school encourages in its students. The event not only celebrated physical prowess but also emphasized the importance of personal growth and character development.

The function began with a warm welcome to the Chief Guest, Kuldeep Chaudhary, Deputy Commissioner, Bokaro who graced the occasion with his esteemed presence. Principals of distinguished schools of the city also graced the occasion. The Chief Guest’s words of encouragement resonated throughout the event, inspiring students to strive for greatness beyond the field. He urged the parents to encourage their wards to participate in co-curricular activities as well that will help in shaping up their overall personality.
The ground buzzed with energy as students from different classes enthusiastically participated in various competitions, showcasing their skills in Zumba, Athletics and Mass Drill. The spirit of healthy competition and camaraderie was evident, fostering a sense of unity among the students.
The highlight of the day was the special display, where students demonstrated their skills in aero innovation. The breath-taking showcase not only captivated the audience but also reaffirmed the school’s commitment to nurturing diverse talents and interests.
Dance performances by the students of Senior wing and Deepansh Shiksha Kendra added a touch of artistry to the event. Parents also participated in the Musical Chair. Ritvik Ranjan from Class V A secured the 1st position for Ganga House in the 4×100 relay race.
Parents, faculty, and guests cheered on the participants, creating an atmosphere of encouragement and support. The Annual Sports Day was not just about victories on the field; it was a celebration of the progress each student had made in their unique journey. On the basis of overall performance, Chenab House bagged the First Position followed by Jamuna and Raavi on the Second and Third positions respectively.
Principal DPS, Bokaro Dr. A.S. Gangwar expressed gratitude to the Chief Guest, parents, faculty and students for making the event successful. “The 34th Annual Sports Day left behind a trail of memories, lessons and a sense of unity that will resonate within the school community.
