Bokaro: A Class XII student of Delhi Public School (DPS), Bokaro, Shiven Sinha, won bronze medal for the country representing India in Asia Pacific Informatics Olympiad 2021 (APIO 2021). Earlier he had won gold medal in the Indian National Informatics Olympiad and hence qualified to represent the country.

The Asia-Pacific Informatics Olympiad (APIO) is an International Olympiad for Informatics (IOI) like competition for delegations within the South Asian and Western Pacific region. APIO 2021 was organized online (5 hours contest) by Indonesia from 22nd to 24th May, 2021.  Its supported programming language was C++.

APIO tasks are basically similar to the tasks in International Olympiad in Informatics, which are typically focused on the design of efficient, correct algorithms. Input and output are to be kept as simple as possible. The submission of novel tasks types not yet seen in any recent programming contests is encouraged. The guidelines of task preparations of IOI should be considered, with no restriction, said sources.

Shiven is son of Savita Sinha and Dr Prabhat Kumar, who is deputy chief medical officer in Bokaro General Hospital (BGH). His elder Brother, Rishit Sinha is pursuing M Tech from IIT Kharagpur.
