Bokaro: In a remarkable achievement for DPS Bokaro, three distinguished educators—Shalini Sharma (Vice Principal), Priti Sinha (Headmistress), and Nimisha Rani (Supervisor)—were honoured with the Centre for Educational Development (CED) National Teacher Award 2025 at the prestigious Education Leadership Summit held in New Delhi.
Celebrating Excellence in Education
The award ceremony, organised by the Centre for Educational Development Foundation, a training and assessment unit registered under MSME, NITI Aayog (Government of India), recognized educators who have demonstrated exceptional leadership, innovative teaching practices, and commitment to quality education. The summit drew eminent education leaders, principals, and academicians from across India.

A Star-Studded Gathering
The event witnessed the presence of several dignitaries, including Chief Guest Dr. Alok Kumar Mishra, Joint Secretary, Association of Indian Universities, New Delhi; G. Balasubramanian, Former Director Academics, CBSE; Prof. (Dr.) Chandrashekhara, AIIMS, New Delhi; Joseph Emanuel, Chief Executive & Secretary, CISCE; and Dr. Priyadarshi Nayak, Chairman of CED Foundation, Noida, among others.
Rigorous Selection Reflects True Merit
From over 2,400 applicants nationwide, only 60 educators were selected for this prestigious honour. The selection process involved a rigorous evaluation by the CED Award Council, assessing candidates’ contributions to education, innovative teaching strategies, and alignment with Sustainable Development Goals. Notably, DPS Bokaro’s awardees were the only educators from Jharkhand to receive this recognition.
Decades of Dedication
The awardees bring decades of experience in the field: Shalini Sharma has been shaping young minds for 29 years, Priti Sinha has been facilitating academic growth since 2004, and Nimisha Rani boasts over 15 years of professional experience in education.
Acknowledging the School Leadership
Expressing their gratitude, the trio dedicated their award to DPS Bokaro and its visionary leader, Principal Dr. A. S. Gangwar, for empowering teachers to cultivate globally competent students. Dr. Gangwar, while congratulating his staff in the school assembly, remarked, “I take immense pride in my team. Every recognition of my staff reflects our school’s dedication, innovation, and commitment to excellence. Their achievements inspire not just our students, but the entire educational community. We aim to nurture leaders, not followers—future changemakers who will transform education.”
DPS Bokaro: A Beacon of Educational Excellence
DPS Bokaro continues to stand as a beacon of educational excellence, and this recognition underscores the school’s commitment to fostering innovation, leadership, and holistic development among educators and students alike.
