Swimming Pool Opens
Responding to the pressing demand from its members, the management committee of the Bokaro Club took the decision to open the swimming pool on Sunday. Following a puja ceremony in evening, the president of the club Harsh Nigam officially declared the swimming pool open for members.
Relief from the Scorching Heat
Arun Kumar Behra, a resident of Sector 5, expressed his enthusiasm for the early opening, stating, “Whether you doggy-paddle or dive, do butterfly, breaststroke or freestyle, beat the heat this summer with swimming.” His sentiment resonates with many others in the community who see swimming as an effective way to seek relief from the oppressive heat.
Limited Access: Bokaro Club Swimming Pool Opens to 1200 Members Only
Traditionally, the swimming pool at the Bokaro Club has followed a schedule of opening after Holi and closing after Durga Puja each year. The club committee has chosen to open the pool on April 7th this year. The operating hours for both male and female members will remain unchanged. Additionally, strict safety measures have been implemented for all swimmers.
Notably, access to the pool will be limited to approximately 1200 club members, with no entry permitted for outsiders. The majority of club members comprise officers from Bokaro Steel Plant and BPSCL, with a small number being non-BSL personnel, although they do not possess voting privileges.
Statement from Bokaro Club President:
“We understand the discomfort our members are facing due to the sudden rise in temperature. In response to their requests, we have decided to open the swimming pool to provide them with a means to cool off and enjoy their leisure time,” said president Harsh Nigam.
