Bokaro: ESL Steel Limited of Vedanta Group organised a Mega Environment Awareness Programme ahead of World Environment Day on June 5th.
The event, attended by over 200 participants including students, guardians, teachers, women entrepreneurs from Jivika SHGs, and ESL Steel Limited employees and Sanjay Kumar from the Jharkhand State Pollution Control Board, alongside ESL Steel Company officials. Activities during the programme included competitions, speeches, skits, and tree plantation, emphasising the importance of land restoration, desertification combat, and drought resilience. Prizes were awarded to outstanding participants, motivating them further. Senior management officials elucidated on the significance of environmental conservation and its broader implications.
Sougata Mahato stressed the collective responsibility towards environmental stewardship, lauding ESL Steel Limited’s initiatives. Ravish Sharma highlighted the event’s aim to inspire youth and underscored ESL’s ambitious plantation drive, distributing saplings to ensure widespread participation.
