Floral and fruit-bearing trees planted to enrich campus ecosystem


Bokaro: On the occasion of World Environment Day, June 5, 2025, Guru Gobind Singh Educational Society’s Technical Campus hosted a large-scale tree plantation program under the initiative ‘Vishwa Nishane Par Hai’. The event was facilitated by NGO Sanjivi Welfare Foundation and aimed to promote environmental conservation among students and the local community.

Fruit and Flower Saplings Planted to Boost Green Cover
A total of 51 saplings including mango, jamun, lemon, guava, oleander, champa, evergreen, and gandharaj were planted across the campus. These plants are expected to enrich the biodiversity of the area and contribute to a cleaner environment.

Kandra Village Rally Highlights Green Awareness
An awareness rally was conducted in nearby Kandra village, led by the college’s Director Dr. Priyadarshi Jaruhar. Village Sarpanch Mr. Upendra Pandey graced the occasion as the chief guest, with rally coordination by Prof. Anupriya (Taru-Mitra Club) and Prof. Sushma Kumari (NSS).

Poster Competition Rewards Student Creativity
Md. Abu Huzefa, a B.Tech Cyber Security student, won first prize in a poster contest. Notable contributions also came from students Hrith Kumari, Nikita Sao, and Pooja Kumari.

Honours and Appreciation for Green Leaders
The Director felicitated Sarpanch Upendra Pandey, Advocate Alok Kumar, and Vishwajeet with bouquets, shawls, and mementos. Campus caretaker Gurmel Singh and staff played a vital role in the plantation arrangements. Senior faculty and administration participated actively, while Institute President Tarsem Singh and Secretary Surendra Pal Singh conveyed their best wishes.
