Bokaro: The Bokaro district swimming team has been officially selected for the upcoming 15th Junior and Sub-Junior Jharkhand State Swimming Competition. The selection trials were conducted on Sunday at the DPS Bokaro swimming pool, organised under the aegis of the Bokaro District Swimming Association. State Championship Scheduled in Jamshedpur
The state-level event is slated for July 12–13, 2025, and will take place at the JRD Sports Complex Swimming Pool, Jamshedpur. The competition will be hosted by the East Singhbhum District Swimming Association under the Jharkhand Swimming Association.
Over 50 Swimmers Participate in Trials
Approximately 55 enthusiastic swimmers from various schools and institutions across Bokaro participated in the early morning trials, which began at 7:00 AM. After a rigorous selection process, 23 swimmers were chosen based on their performance in different swimming categories. Boys’ and Girls’ Teams Announced
Dr. A. S. Gangwar, President of Bokaro District Swimming Association and Principal of DPS Bokaro, declared the names of selected swimmers. In the Junior Boys category: Ankit Basu, Pragyan Kumar, Arnav Sharan, Aarav Kumar, and Samyak Shivank were chosen. In the Girls’ Junior category: Gurleen, Aditri Chauhan, Faiza Faruqui, and Jyotika Choudhury will represent Bokaro. Sub-Junior Girls selected include Mariam Hussain, Arunima, Aadya Prisha, Aanshika, and Ishanvi Arya.
Swimmers to Compete in Multiple Disciplines
The Bokaro team will compete in a variety of events such as Freestyle, Backstroke, Butterfly, Breaststroke, and Relay races.
