GGPS Bokaro students explore science through experiential learning

Bokaro: Students from Guru Gobind Singh Public School (GGPS), Bokaro, experienced an engaging and educational excursion to the Science Centre in Purulia on June 27, 2024. The trip aimed to enhance their understanding of science and innovation through hands-on learning.

The excursion began with a visit to the nature park, where students reveled in the natural beauty. They then explored the dinosaur park, where they encountered models of dinosaurs from the Mesozoic era, offering them a glimpse into prehistoric times. A highlight of the trip was the 3D motion picture, immersing students in the wonders of aquatic life.

The visit included a practical session in the laboratory, where Suman Karmakar, the Education Officer at the District Science Centre, provided insightful demonstrations on electromagnetic induction theory, acid-base indicators, and other scientific concepts. This session enriched the students’ knowledge and sparked their interest in practical science.

The students also toured the Life Science Gallery and Museum, learning about Purulia’s natural wealth and heritage. This immersive experience was praised by GGES Secretary S.P. Singh, and the entire committee, who emphasise the importance of holistic education.

Principal Soumen Chakraborty, known for his dedication to advancing students’ education, organised the program, while Vice Principal C.P. Singh, a proponent of experiential learning, provided support. The students were accompanied by their class teachers, ensuring a safe and informative trip.

This excursion exemplifies the school’s commitment to providing students with enriching educational experiences beyond the classroom.
