Income tax officials celebrated ‘Aaykar Diwas’ organising blood donation camp


Bokaro: The Income Tax (IT) Department celebrated 161st Income Tax day (also known as Aaykar Diwas) by organising blood donations camp and planting saplings at its office campus in Sector-1 on Saturday. District health department team led by civil surgeon, Dr A K Pathak supported the occasion.

On this very day in the Year 1860, income tax was introduced in India by Sir James Wilson to compensate the British Government for the losses incurred during the first war of Independence in 1857. To commemorate this day, the Income Tax Department has decided in 2010 to mark July 24th as the day for the annual celebration.

All the officials had participated in the function making it a grand success. “We as an Income Tax family , wish the greetings to all the honest tax payers and other stake holders , whose contributions are accelerating our efforts towards economic development for an ” AatmNirbhar Bharat “. Let us pledge to continue the development process together to build this Nation great,” confirmed A K Choubey, a senior IT officer.
