Bokaro: The budget tabled by Jharkhand government on Wednesday announced the development of Luggu Hill under Gomia Block as one of the mega tourist destinations in state. This has rejoiced the residents here. The budget read – seeing the importance of the place, the state government will develop Luggu as a mega tourist destination. All the basic facilities and infrastructures will be installed under the scheme.
Luggu Hill which is surrounded by dense forest is one the most beautiful place in Jharkhand. It is adorned with natural beauty. There are several amazing spots to see. Luggu hill is situated about 70 kilometers from Bokaro Steel Township. The roads are good. The sweet serenity of the hills makes road trip memorable. It has a forest cover of 3500 hectares. The entire area is covered by trees, traversed by streams and perennial springs. The beauty of Sitanala, a natural water stream, at Luggu always remains an attraction for tourists.
Luggu Hill is also the religious place for Santhals, the largest tribal community in country. Every year thousands of Santhals from different parts of the country and abroad visits Luggu Buru Ghantavadi Dhoramgaad to offer prayer. It is their famous holy place.
“There is a big natural cave atop the hill inside which devotees offer puja to Luggu Baba. The residents have a strong belief in Luggu Baba, who is the face of Lord Shiva. LugguBuru Ghantavadi Dhoramgaad is situated at foothill while the Luggu Baba temple, is located above the hill. The devotees have to walk more than six kilometers above the hill to have darshan of Luggu Baba, said a resident.
