Steel giants of Jharkhand — Bokaro Steel Plant, ESL Steel Limited, and Tata Steel — marked the 79th Independence Day with record achievements, inspiring addresses, and grand celebrations. From BSL’s historic production and green steel strides, ESL’s unity-filled parade and honours, to Tata Steel’s call for economic strength and digital progress, the events reflected pride, commitment, and a renewed pledge towards a stronger, self-reliant India.
Bokaro Steel Plant Sets Golden Milestone
On the occasion of the 79th Independence Day, Director In-Charge of BSL, Birendra Kumar Tiwari, hoisted the National Flag at Mohan Kumar Mangalam Stadium, inspected the grand parade, and took the salute. Sharing the historic achievements of FY 2024–25, he announced record-breaking production figures — 4.963 million tonnes of hot metal, 4.514 million tonnes of crude steel, and 1.171 million tonnes of CR salable steel.
The plant set new benchmarks in techno-economic parameters, energy efficiency, and 100% utilisation of solid waste. Significant progress was made towards green steel initiatives, including a 30 MW floating solar plant, carbon emission reduction projects, and the development of special steel grades 28MnB5 and DMR 249A, strengthening India from agriculture to the Navy.
ESL Steel Limited Marks Independence Day with ‘Unity and Pride’
ESL Steel Limited of Vedanta Group celebrated the 79th Independence Day with grandeur, unity, and enthusiasm.
