JPSC Result: DAV Bokaro passout Ashish Akshat secures Rank 1


Bokaro: The Jharkhand Public Service Commission (JPSC) 2023 examination results were declared recently, with Ashish Akshat emerging as the topper  among 342 successful candidates. Out of the 864 candidates who appeared for the interview round, only 342 have cleared the final stage. The result was published by JPSC Secretary Sandeep Kumar.

Ashish hails from Dhanbad and completed his schooling from Denobili School (Class 10) and DAV Bokaro (Class 12). He pursued Civil Engineering at NIT Jamshedpur (2016 batch) and later joined the corporate sector. While working, he simultaneously prepared for civil services, ultimately cracking the JPSC exam in his second attempt. In his first attempt, he was eliminated in the interview round. Ashish stood out at the top, with his decision to take Khortha, a regional language of Jharkhand, as his language paper further highlighting his strong local connection. Ashish credits his father, a former civil servant, as his biggest inspiration. “It was always my dream to serve in the police department of Jharkhand,” he said. “I believed I would clear JPSC, but securing the top rank was beyond my expectations.”

Despite job responsibilities, Ashish prioritised focused self-study, often preparing at home while living in Delhi. Interestingly, his brother also appeared for the interview but didn’t clear this time. Both of them prepared together. Ashish Akshat shared five key strategies behind his success: strategic time management, mastering the JPSC syllabus, dedicated preparation for mains with a focus on answer writing, thorough prelims revision, and active participation in group discussions.
