Bokaro: Delhi Public School (DPS) Bokaro students showcased exceptional talent and determination at the 4th International Karate Championship held in Kolkata. This prestigious event featured competitors from eight countries, including India, Iran, Bhutan, Canada, Portugal, Indonesia, Nepal, and Sri Lanka. DPS Bokaro students were the standout performers from Jharkhand, securing a remarkable total of 33 medals—comprising 8 gold, 9 silver, and 16 bronze.
Top Performers and Medal Winners from DPS Bokaro
Among the stellar athletes was Riyanshi Chaudhary, who won two gold medals in both kata and kumite categories. Other notable winners included Mayon Sarav, Anika Das, Aaradhya Suvan, Siddhi Suman, and Naitik Prasad, each contributing with golds in kumite events. The school’s comprehensive success reinforced Bokaro’s dominance, with the district earning 52 medals overall out of Jharkhand’s 64 medals in the competition.

Large-Scale Participation and Competitive Spirit
The championship attracted more than 300 participants from across India, highlighting the competitive spirit and skill on display. Following their return, DPS Bokaro honored the medalists in a special assembly where Principal Dr. A.S. Gangwar, who also heads the Karate Association of Jharkhand, praised the students’ dedication and resilience. He emphasized how karate is not just a sport but a discipline that builds physical strength, mental focus, self-confidence, and respect among youth.

DPS Bokaro continues its collaboration with the Karate Association of Jharkhand to provide intensive martial arts training, aiming to nurture future champions and uphold the institute’s tradition of excellence in sports and academics.
