Bokaro: To nurture and empower students on financial literacy, business, entrepreneurship, economics and various aspects of Commerce, Delhi Public School (DPS) Bokaro organised an Inter-school Quiz Competition –‘ComQuiz 2024’ on Saturday in the school premises. Teams from 20 schools across the Bokaro district enthusiastically participated, displaying their academic prowess and commercial expertise.
Each team consisted of four participants. The Chief Guest of the event was, Sujay Kumar, Chief General Manager (Finance & Accounts), BSL. The event commenced in the Ashwaghosh Kala Kshetra with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp followed by a melodious rendition of the welcome song and school song. This exclusively commerce-based quiz was divided into two phases. The first phase of the competition began with a 30-minute written preliminary round, school teams who qualified in the first phase entered were the finalists for phase two of the competition.
The brainstorming questions spanned topics such as Companies, Banks, Stock Markets, Government Budgets, GST, Insurance, Demonetization, GDP, Income Tax and The Mercantile Law. The quiz concluded with a Rapid-Fire Round that turned the scoreboard on its head. The team from MGM Higher Secondary School emerged victorious with a total score of 115 points followed by the team from Holy Cross School with 105 points, while DPS Bokaro secured the second runners -up position with 90 points. The Chief Guest, Sujay Kumar presented the trophies and certificates to the winning and runners-up team. He urged teachers to play a vital role in helping students achieve their dreams and advised students to pursue their passion with patience, dedication and a continuous willingness to learn. He also advised students to make each day a learning experience and grow in life.
The Principal, A.S. Gangwar highlighted the significance of instilling financial literacy among the young generation of students to ensure a new wave of economic growth. He described such competitions as milestones in shaping students’ understanding of commerce and encouraged participants to value the learning experience over winning or losing. Ananya Raj, the Head Girl delivered the welcome address while the vote of thanks was proposed by Head Boy Kanhaiya Bhardwaj.
