MGM School Bokaro triumphs in CBSE East Zone Judo Championship


Bokaro: MGM Higher Secondary School Bokaro emerged as the overall champion in the CBSE East Zone Judo Championship, held at Gyandeep English Public School, Varanasi, from 18 to 21 September. Competing against schools from Bihar, Jharkhand, and Uttar Pradesh, the team secured 41 medals, including 15 gold, 8 silver, and 18 bronze, amassing a total of 138 points to claim the coveted overall trophy.

The gold medal winners in the boys’ category were Anshu Kumar, Satyam Kesari, Prince Kumar Pandey, Sarvagya Kesari, Rajveer Singh, Rohit Kumar, and Ayush Kumar. In the girls’ category, Shreya Mishra, Priyadarshini Singh, Sparsh Raj, Surabhi Kumari, Saumya Shekhar, Zeba Naz, Sakshi Srivastava, and Sneha Kumari clinched gold.

Silver medalists in the boys’ category included Kumar Rudraksh, Ayush Patel, Siddharth Kumar, and Harshvardhan Singh. In the girls’ category, Jaya Singh, Akriti Kumari, Swasti Vijay, and Jhinuk Banerjee won silver.

Bronze medals in the boys’ category were awarded to Aditya Kunal Singh, Shahbaz Faisal, Arpit Toppo, Raunak Kumar, Om Anand, Saksham Kumar Singh, Rituraj, Piyush Prakash, Jayant Kumar, and Priyanshu Raj Singh. In the girls’ category, Sakshi Singh Solanki, Aradhya Kumari, Aastha Pandey, Anah Shandilya, Pihu Singh, Kriti Rani, Aakanksha Kumari, and Prachi Kumari won bronze.

A total of 23 players have been selected for the CBSE National Championship. School Principal Father Joshi Varghese congratulated the team, coach Rajiv Kumar Singh, and team manager Mitali Bora. He, along with other school staff, extended best wishes to the players for their national-level performance.
