Rappelling, zip-lining, tree climbing boost courage and unity


Bokaro: The two-day adventure camp which commenced on Saturday concluded on Sunday evening at DPS Bokaro. It was a vibrant display of agility, physical and mental fitness along with the splendour of sportiveness. It was conducted to boost the spirit of adventurism in the students of Classes IV to VIII. Around 300 students enthusiastically participated in this camp. The activity areas resonated with excitement, unleashed the urge to defy the boundaries of ability and inability to engender proactiveness, promptness and spontaneity.

The camp was inaugurated by the Principal Dr A.S. Gangwar, who was cordially greeted to the arena of activities. He enthused the participants to enjoy the thrilling activities of the camp with utmost zeal and fervour keeping safety as the first priority. He also emphasised, “ Such camps develop team spirit and build physical and mental resilience in encountering challenges.”

The first activity was an ice-breaker, which inducted the participants through the chain of power-packed adventures followed by heart-pounding zip-lining, rappelling, tree climbing to team-based games like commando net, loop races, catch-me-if-you-can and helter- skelter, each event was crafted to nurture courage, endurance and unity among participants.

The meticulously curated schedule included sessions on learning initiatives, group-building tasks and fun-maze games, combining adventure with structured learning. Under expert supervision, students navigated physical obstacles and enjoyed engaging games such as tug of war and ball in the basket.

Day two started with Zumba, which was a magnificent display of the effervescence of the young and energetic students. The activities witnessed the whole-hearted participation of the students. Spontaneity and zealousness were evident in every participant and their spirits were high, making them participate with boundless confidence and enthusiasm. The well -integrated plethora of activities kept the participant engaged throughout the day, ready to take up the challenges at the drop of the hat while the team in charge and instructors were at the helm of all the activities to provide the students with a memorable experience.
