Bokaro: Two youths were killed while one has been severely injured when the scooty they were riding collided head-on with a car at National Highway-23 here. The incident occurred at an intersection near the Women Polytechnic under Balidih police station on Wednesday. The deceased and injured were riding triple on the scooty. Following the incident, the driver of the car managed to flee from the spot. Police have seized the car.
Officer incharge of Balidih police station, Binod Kumar said the car was going towards Bokaro. At the intersection near Women’s Polytechnic, the scooty entered the other lane from the opposite side and collided head-on with the car. The girl Sheila Jena and a youth Rajeev Kumar died on the spot while another youth got critically injured. The police team rushed him to the Bokaro General Hospital (BGH). He is said to be critical.
The deceased and injured are residents of Kunwar Singh Colony, Chas. While there were five persons riding the car who also sustained light injuries. They said to police that the driver tried to stop the vehicle, as he saw scooty entered suddenly in the lane, but failed, as the car was at a good speed. An FIR has been lodged in this connection.
