Bokaro: Chairman of Steel Authourity of India Limited (SAIL), Soma Mondal on Thursday emphasised the need to give topmost priority to safety, maintenance of equipments and reducing cost of production. She also expressed confidence in the potential of employees of Bokaro Steel Plant (BSL) in taking the organisation to a greater height.
Mondal was on a two-day visit to BSL plant. Director incharge of BSL, Amarendu Prakash with other officials gave warm welcome on her arrival at Bokaro Airport, said Manikant Dhan, BSL spokesperson. Director (Technical, Projects & Raw Materials) also accompanied her on the visit.
Chairman visited all the major production units inside the Plant including Coke Ovens, Raw Materials Handling Plant, Blast Furnaces, Steel Melting Shop, Hot Strip Mill and Cold Rolling Mill-3. In all these units she was briefed about their performances by shop executives. While interacting with employees, Mondal urged them to give renewed thrust on safety and laid emphasis on timely maintenance of equipment and minimising cost on a continuous basis.
However, the chairman appreciated the excellent housekeeping in the various shops. Later in the day, she reviewed the production performances, status of different projects, services in medical department and township with senior officials of BSL.
