Bokaro: Sree Ayyappa Public School hosted its vibrant Inter House Rangoli Competition, a celebration of artistry inspired by the festive spirit of Deepawali and the theme of elections, “Chunav Ek Tyohar.” Students from grades VI to XII showcased their creative talents in this prestigious event held in the Assembly Quadrangle, transforming the space into a colorful tapestry of Rangoli designs. The competition was not only a display of artistry but also a celebration of cultural traditions.
Participants and Team Selection
Eligible participants from grades VI to XII were organised into teams, each consisting of eight members to ensure representation across different classes. The house masters meticulously selected the team members, and each team was given a two-hour timeframe to create their Rangoli masterpieces. A lottery system determined the order of team placements, adding an element of excitement to the proceedings. Judging criteria included design, color harmony, thematic relevance, creativity, and overall presentation. The competitors exhibited remarkable artistry, showcasing stunning aesthetic finesse through their Rangoli creations, utilizing a dazzling palette of colors.
Esteemed Panel of Judges
The competition was graced by a distinguished panel of judges, including Arpita Ghosh, Renu Sharma, and Rita Kumari. Their expertise and keen eye for detail ensured a fair evaluation of the participants’ work. The judges assessed each Rangoli on its artistic merit, further encouraging the students to express themselves through this traditional art form.
Celebrating Achievements and Winners
In a splendid celebration of talent and hard work, prizes were awarded for the first, second, and third positions, honoring the remarkable efforts of all participants. Ganga House emerged victorious, securing the prestigious first place among the competing houses. Notable participants included Shivam from VI/A, Tanya Raj from VII/B, Palak Singh from VIII/E, Shreya Tiwari from IX/F, Rohit Kumar from X/F, Riya Kumari from XI/J, Ayush Singh from X/E, and Vartika Singh from XI/C.
Pampa House followed closely, claiming the second position with talented participants such as Aditi Sinha from VIII/F, Rahul Mandal from XI/A, Aarambhi Jeet from X/C, Sonal Singh from VII/A, Nayasha from VIII/H, Saanvi Shreya from VIII/D, Yagyashree from IX/H, and Paridhi from VI/B. Lastly, Saraswati House proudly secured third place, represented by Raghavi Nandan from VI/G, Kritika Anand from VII/B, Shreya Kumari from VIII/B, Jiya from VIII/F, Ananya Singh from VIII/H, Anushka Kumari from X/C, Maanvi Kumari from XI/I, and Aditi Singh from XI/I.
Encouragement from the Management
P Rajagopal extended heartfelt congratulations to the emerging artists, encouraging them to fully engage in such competitions to awaken and elevate their creative passions. He also conveyed Diwali greetings to all, emphasising the importance of celebration and creativity during the festive season.

Shailja Jayakumar highlighted the significance of such competitions as remarkable platforms for students to channel their artistic talents and creativity through the enchanting medium of Rangoli. She noted that collaborating in teams fosters essential values of teamwork, cooperation, and effective communication, as students work together to bring their Rangoli visions to life.
