Distinguished Guests and Festive Inauguration
The festivities kicked off with a grand ceremony to welcome Chief Guest P. Rajagopal, Chairman of SAPS, and esteemed members of the Board of Directors. Dr. S. S. Mahapatra, the Director, extended a warm welcome, setting the tone for the day. The choir of students added a musical touch with their rendition of “Khel Geet.”
Dynamic Displays of Talent
The sports day showcased not only athletic prowess but also the creative and rhythmic talents of the students. The Hula Hoop event and Zumba Dance segment, featuring students from different grades, were captivating demonstrations of precision and energy.
Inclusive Competitions
The extravaganza featured a myriad of track and field events, involving students from various grades. Moreover, events like musical chairs, slow cycling, and balancing races brought together diverse groups, fostering camaraderie and friendly competition.
Recognition and Celebration
The day concluded with a prize distribution ceremony, where outstanding students were recognized for their exceptional performance and sportsmanship. The house-wise point tally revealed that Yamuna emerged as the overall winner.
March Past and Unity
The March Past showcased Periyar House as the winner, with Yamuna and Ganga securing the first and second runner-up positions, respectively. Principal Mrs. P Shailaja Jayakumar expressed gratitude to all participants, emphasising the role of sports in holistic development.
Formal Closure and National Pride
The Vice Principal, Rajalaxmi, formally closed the event through a Vote of Thanks, symbolising the culmination of days of hard work and dedication. The flag-lowering ceremony, conducted with solemnity, marked the end of the day, concluding with the rendition of the National Anthem and instilling a sense of pride and patriotism among all present.
