Bokaro: In a proactive move aimed at enhancing the safety and preparedness of students and staff, St. Xavier’s School organised a noteworthy event on Monday, known as Bagless Day. The primary objective of this initiative was to educate and raise awareness about fire rescue operations, ensuring the school community is well-equipped to handle fire emergencies effectively.
During this special event, students and teachers received crucial insights from fire safety experts. The students were educated about the potential dangers of sudden fires and were provided with valuable knowledge on how to tackle a fire, including extinguishing fires in gas cylinders within a household. These life-saving skills are vital in safeguarding themselves and others from harm in the event of a fire-related crisis.
The fire department played an instrumental role in this educational endeavor, with fire officers and station officers being present at the school. Their participation aimed to enlighten students and faculty about fire-fighting techniques and the importance of swift responses during emergency situations. The demonstration was a practical and engaging way to instill knowledge about fire safety.
Father Arun Minj, S.J., the Principal of the school, emphasised the institution’s commitment to the holistic development and complete safety of the students.
“The Bagless Day event served as a testament to this commitment, equipping the school community with essential fire safety skills and knowledge to ensure their well-being and preparedness in the face of potential fire hazards,” said Sanjay Kumar Pattanayak, Teacher cum public relation officer of St Xavier’s School.
