Bokaro : Delhi Public School (DPS), Bokaro organised the “DPS Star Contest” on its campus, offering a platform for students to express their creative abilities and broaden their artistic experiences. The event brought together a diverse range of performances, including solo singing, instrumental presentations, orchestral ensembles, dance recitals and visual art displays, reflecting the school’s emphasis on holistic learning.
The programme opened with the Band-category Orchestra Competition, where student groups presented coordinated instrumental pieces using keyboards, guitars, clap boxes and other instruments. Arka Raj and his group secured the first position for their energetic and well-synchronised performance, followed by the teams led by Viraj Jha and Rudrangshu Roy, who were placed second and third respectively.

The Solo Song Competition offered a series of engaging vocal presentations. U. Charukeshi won first place for a melodious rendition of “Ka Se Kahun Sakhi Main…”. Vaishnavi Priya’s performance of “Fero Na Nazar Se Nazariya…” earned her second place, while Avni Ananya Pandey secured third for her rendition of “Raghukul Reet”.
The Solo Dance Competition featured varied thematic expressions. Vartika Dubey was declared the winner for her portrayal of Maa Kali in the Raktbeej Samhaar sequence. Prapti Mishra placed second for a classical Bharatanatyam performance, while third place was shared by Rimik B. Surya Mandal and Shanvi Shreya.
Principal Dr. A. S. Gangwar commended the participants and reaffirmed the school’s commitment to nurturing student talent.
