Bokaro: The Institution of Engineers India (IEI) Bokaro Local Center, in collaboration with SAIL-Bokaro Steel Plant, has launched a dynamic initiative aimed at fostering eco-conscious industrial practices.
A prominent two-day All India Seminar on the theme “Sustainable and Green Technologies for Industries” is scheduled to take place from August 26 to 27, 2023. This event stands as a significant platform, uniting professionals, experts, and academicians in a collective endeavor to explore and integrate eco-friendly systems within the industrial landscape.
The inaugural session of the seminar, held on Saturday, commenced with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp. Distinguished dignitaries, including Birendra Kumar Tiwari, Executive Director (Works) of Bokaro Steel Plant, as the chief guest, and Aninda Das, CEO of BPSCL, as the guest of honor, graced the Vishweshwaraiah Hall at Bokaro Center.
The proceedings began with a warm welcome extended by N.P. Srivastava, the Chairman of IEI Bokaro Local Centre. Srivastava, who is also the General Manager (ECS), provided an overview of the seminar’s goals and structure. He encouraged enthusiastic participation from all attendees, underscoring the potential for substantial knowledge accrual from the event.
In his address during the inaugural session, ED (Works), emphasised the urgency of addressing climate change concerns in the contemporary milieu. The proliferation of greenhouse gas emissions has induced dire repercussions, such as escalating sea levels, volatile weather patterns, and the erosion of biodiversity.
Birendra Kumar Tiwari stressed the collective responsibility to curtail carbon footprints and work collaboratively towards a sustainable future. He highlighted the seminar’s role in equipping participants and corporations with cutting-edge insights into sustainable and green technologies for industries.
Throughout the seminar’s duration, experts are slated to engage in comprehensive discussions on diverse facets of green technology’s application in the industrial sector, augmenting their insights through panel interactions.
