Bokaro: Sree Ayyappa Public School, Sector 5, came alive with colours, creativity, and culture as it hosted a Fancy Dress Competition on the theme “Veshe Shobhate Desh Premsya Bhavah” (Costume Reflects the Spirit of Patriotism). Over 200 students from Pre-Nursery to Class 1 participated, showcasing India’s rich tribal heritage, traditions, and attire through vibrant performances.

Inauguration with Traditional Spirit
The event began with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp by Principal P. Shailaja Jayakumar, teachers Rajalakshmi, Sumangala, judges, and parents amidst Vedic chants. The school choir welcomed the guests with a melodious song, setting a festive tone for the day.
Little Ones Portrayed Gods, States, and Stories
Children dressed as mythological characters, national icons, and popular cartoon figures. Pre-Nursery kids depicted themes from Mahabharata and Halloween, while Nursery students came as cartoon characters. Prep class students represented India’s diverse states in traditional attire, and Class 1 students showcased classical dance forms. Each child also delivered short dialogues, leaving the audience spellbound.

Parents Joined the Fun
Various engaging competitions for parents—songs, bhajans, and dances—added excitement to the event. Winners among parents received souvenirs for their enthusiastic participation.
Prize Distribution and Encouragement
Judges Vijaya Bhasin, Neelam Sharma, and Ranjoo evaluated performances and announced winners. Principal Jayakumar encouraged students to embrace India’s linguistic and cultural diversity, saying such activities foster creativity, confidence, and social skills. School Chairman Mr. P. Rajgopal praised the event, calling it “a platform for instilling moral values and self-reliance.”
