National Sports Day Celebration and Expansion
In celebration of National Sports Day, commemorating the birth anniversary of Indian hockey legend Major Dhyan Chand, ESL Steel Limited underscores its dedication to nurturing local talent through the Vedanta ESL Archery Academy. The academy has expanded its training program to support 50 committed archers, from beginners to advanced levels. Students benefit from high-quality equipment, personalized coaching, and well-maintained facilities, including uniforms and a balanced nutrition plan. Future plans include an in-house gym, recurve bow training, and increased participation in national tournaments.
Notable Achievements and Successes
Since its inception, the Vedanta ESL Archery Academy has garnered impressive achievements. Students have won a total of 185 medals at National, State, and District levels. Medal counts have steadily increased, from 46 medals in 2020-2022 to 69 in 2022-2023, and 70 in 2023-2024. Recently, seven archers distinguished themselves at the 15th Jharkhand State Archery Tournament in Hazaribagh, winning 21 medals—16 gold, 1 silver, and 4 bronze. Their exceptional performance was celebrated by the Bokaro District Archery Association.
Hosting Major Archery Events
The academy has also hosted significant events, including the District Archery Tournament and the Vedanta Challenge Inter-Academy Tournament. Our archers showcased remarkable skills, emerging as champions at both events. Additionally, three national-level archers received prestigious Modern Recurve and Indian Bows from the Bokaro District Archery Association.
