One of the Vedanta Group companies, ESL Steel Limited on Thursday handed over a Mobile Medical Unit to Viswa Kalyan Seva Trust, an NGO providing health care in rural areas. The medical unit is equipped with state-of-the-art diagnostic facilities and be accompanied by a dedicated medical team consisting of a doctor, lab technician, and pharmacist.
“The goal is to provide healthcare to people living in rural areas. By providing these services throughout the year, rural communities will have access to healthcare facilities and have more time to engage in livelihood activities,” said an ESL officer.
The event was successfully concluded in the presence of Transport Minister of Jharkhand, Champai Soren. The CEO of ESL, NL Vhatte, handed over the MMU to Viswa Kalyan Seva Trust at the Transport minister’s residence.
Founder of Viswa Kalyan Seva Trust Rup Kumar Swami, Head of CSR, ER & PR Ashish Ranjan and Dy Head CSR Rakesh Mishra were also present.

ESL CSR organized Blood Donation Camp
ESL Steel Limited has organized a blood donation camp at Dispensary (16 khata) with the help of CSR on Thursday. There were more than 150 employees registered themselves for the donation. The event was attended by Dr. Abhay Bhushan Prasad (Civil Surgeon, Bokaro) and Dr. KK Sinha and team from Red Cross Society.
The event, organized with the support of Citizens Foundation and in association with Red Cross Society, aimed to decrease blood scarcity at the right time. As a result, many lives will be saved and blood will be available in blood banks.
On the occasion, Mr. Khirod Barik, Dy. CHRO said, “I’m really glad to see such active participation within the company for the social cause and can proudly say that ESL family is always ready to serve the society whenever needed. Also, I wish for everyone’s good health and better tomorrow.”
