Bokaro: DPS Bokaro celebrated Raksha Bandhan on Friday in a unique and eco-friendly way under the guidance of Principal Dr. A. S. Gangwar. The festival was observed as Vrikshabandhan, where students and teachers tied large handmade rakhis to trees, pledging to protect them and preserve the greenery of the earth.
Young Students Spread Message of Friendship with Nature
In the senior wing, students went tree to tree, tying rakhis and taking an oath to safeguard nature. Meanwhile, in the primary wing, young children treated the trees as friends, promoting the message of “Save Trees, Save Earth” through symbolic rakhi-tying. The event turned into a creative celebration, connecting traditional values with environmental awareness.
Rakhi-Making and Thali Decoration Add Artistic Touch
A special competition for rakhi-making and thali decoration was also organised, in which students from pre-nursery to class five participated enthusiastically. This activity not only enhanced their creative and traditional skills but also encouraged emotional expression by crafting rakhis for their siblings with love.
Principal Emphasises Moral Duty Towards Nature
Principal Dr. Gangwar extended warm Raksha Bandhan wishes to all and remarked that the festival symbolises love, care, and responsibility between siblings. He added that protecting nature is every human’s moral and ethical duty. DPS Bokaro has been continuously committed to environmental conservation and was recently honored with the United Nations-supported Sustainable Goals Award, along with the Green School Award in the past.
