Bokaro: MGM Higher Secondary School, Bokaro, organised a workshop titled Media Matters under its Media Club to spread awareness about the vital role of media. The initiative was aimed at equipping students with skills to engage responsibly with information in the digital era.
Media Professional Shares Experience
The session featured Ms. Rakhi Das, a senior journalist associated with DD News, All India Radio and popular shows like Range Haath and Mehfil. Sharing insights from her career, she emphasised the need to distinguish facts from distortion and highlighted how media influences society, democracy, and youth perceptions.

Student-Centric Engagement
The workshop was hosted by Media Club members Adharv Jha and Krishna Sharma. Students actively participated in the interactive Q\&A, seeking guidance on journalism, ethical reporting, and career opportunities in media. The exchange reflected growing curiosity among youth to explore the media industry beyond its traditional scope.
New Ventures by Media Club
On this occasion, the school launched Shutterbugs, a programme for photography and videography training. Principal Father Dr. Joshi Varghese stressed the importance of responsible media engagement and inaugurated Shutterbugs with a symbolic camera click.

The school felicitated Ms. Das with a sapling and memento as a token of appreciation. The workshop concluded with a vote of thanks, leaving students inspired to use media as a tool for awareness, creativity and positive social change.
